Diabetes Care
Attention Plus Care to Host Free Seminar
Honolulu (October 27, 2011) - Diabetes is a serious chronic disease that is increasing at an alarming rate. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that 28.5 million Americans have diabetes, with about 1.9 million new cases as of last year. Individuals can learn more about this common disease, by attending "Diabetes Care", a seminar sponsored by Attention Plus Care, scheduled on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 9am to 11am at 1580 Makaloa Street, Suite 1060 in Honolulu.
Participants will have an opportunity to learn about symptoms, treatments, healthy diet, and how to respond to diabetic emergencies. A Registered Nurse will discuss how eating a healthy-eating plan will not only help control blood glucose levels, but will also help manage blood pressure and cholesterol levels. The event is free, but space is limited and registration is required: Call 440-9372 to sign up.
Chris Toyama, RN, Client Service Supervisor of Attention Plus Care will lead the class. "It takes a rainbow of foods everyday to keep diabetes at bay! Learn more about the reasons of eating a rainbow of colorful foods to help manage this increasingly common disease. This healthy class is an opportunity for individuals with diabetes to learn how to reduce their risks, and take better control of the disease," said Toyama.
