CARE FOR A LOVED ONE DURING END-OF-LIFE
Aging in Hawaii: End-of-Life Class for Family Caregivers

Honolulu, Hawaii – Caring for a dying family member is a complex and emotionally difficult challenge that impacts the well-being of all family caregivers. Attention Plus Care is sponsoring "End-of-Life Care", a class to provide family caregivers physical, emotional, and spiritual knowledge for caring for a loved one. The free class is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28th from 3 pm - 5 pm at Attention Plus Care in Honolulu.

Eileen Phillips, Client Services Director of Attention Plus Care and a Licensed Registered Nurse will lead the class.

The class will discuss coping abilities such as "Mindful Presence" in the home of a dying person. Attendees will learn from an experienced nurse on how to increase a family members comfort, by recognizing final symptoms at end-of-life, and how to work with pain management.

The class is part six of a series of educational classes under the company's "Aging in Hawaii" program to assist seniors and family caregivers with aging issues.

Class topics include: Medication Management, Elder Nutrition & Diet, Managing Challenging Behaviors, Fitness for Seniors, Living with Parkinson's, End-of-Life Care, Alzheimer's Care, Diabetes Education, and Fall Prevention.
